Adzookie.com is looking for homes that are owned and not rented or leased. The entire outside of the house is painted, minus the roof, the windows and any awnings. Painting takes approximately 3 – 5 days. Adzookie.com will pay the mortgage every month for as long as the house is painted, which can be up to a year. I thought this was useful to share with the class because marketing and advertising is a huge aspect of most businesses, but it can be tricky as advertising space is so pricey! Just as owning a home is pricey....so this shows that you can think outside the box and kill two birds with one stone! You can save dollars on advertising, by helping someone afford their house. Its a win-win situation!
I saw a house like this when I was in San Diego this summer, I'm not sure if it was adzookie that did the ad but it was definitely effective. It was an ad for Taco Bell painted on a really old house and you couldn't help but notice it. I'm sure I drove by 10 billboards with Taco Bell on them but I never noticed one, but when a house is painted purple and orange you can see it from miles away and remember exactly what is being advertised. Definitely an innovative way to market something, and probably a pretty good return on marketing investment.
